Modern indie pop singer-songwriter and producer Temporary Hero is a stylistically hybrid artist who started out in the electronic dance music field, crossed over to the pop realm, and even paid homage to oldies, but goodies like Frank Sinatra and Chet Baker.
Along the way Temporary Hero has experienced triumphs and tragedy, the highlights being charting on Billboard, winning on MTV The Freshmen for his video for Circus, and receiving accolades for his reinterpretation of Fleetwood Mac’s classic album TUSK and his cover album of Chet Baker’s songs.
Temporary Hero recently spent some time in St. Croix, the US Virgin Islands, recovering from a tragedy, and he brings forth his new album INDIGO, which was written during this time period. He was revivified and inspired by his life on the island and this is reflected completely with INDIGO.
One lovely number, Can I Kiss You Now?, flowers from his time spent on St. Croix. The seductive R&B-touched ballad sways with tropical flourishes, but is centered solidly on Temporary Hero’s yearning, falsetto vocals. While the acoustic guitar lines and laid-back island rhythm soothes, Temporary Hero is still in flux emotionally, wondering, “Can I kiss you now?”
