Set List:
The Vitriots are quickly becoming one of the most unique and impressive bands in the Australian underground scene. With their latest track ‘Pinball Wizard’, this young Sydney band purposely go against the grain of your usual alternative garage rock or punk. A distinct statement from a band that doesn’t feel the need to pigeonhole themselves to the confines of genre (obviously).
With tinny electric guitar taking centre stage (right) before the sucker punch of thunderous drums, the track has a charm that seems reminiscent of all the best 90’s grunge but with a discordant UK 70’s punk lyrical edge front and centre.
Pinball Wizard’s combination of many different sounds and moving parts showcases the bands musical pallet and inspirations. Nirvana, The Pixies and even some Courtney Barnett, it’s all in there. But they all culminate in a distinctly original track that will be sure to echo through festival stages. Make no mistake about it, The Vitriots aren’t just banging on the Aus Rock door, they are busting it right open. Interesting gig fellas, thanks.
