The Joy Formidable 03-14-19 (Live @ Historic Scoot Inn)
The Joy Formidable are a band I have been a huge fan of for years. So when I saw they were playing SXSW, I was excited to check them out especially to catch a live performance of Whirring which is by far my favorite song of their catalog. Thankfully after all the craziness of scheduling, I was able to actually see them play the Brooklyn Bowl Family Reunion Showcase at the Historic Scoot Inn.
They were absolutely killing it from the opening note. However as Ritzy playfully noted, they are not known for writing 3 or 4 minute songs. With their set only being 30 minutes, they only were able to squeeze in 4 songs. Thankfully they ended the set with an absolutely perfect version of Whirring & I along with the super packed crowd would not have had it any other way!
