Good crowd/bad crowd: Great. On fire.
Number of times seen act: 1
Crowd participation: Screaming the lyrics back to him (Raj). His friends and fans were all there (too) so literally you couldn’t even hear yourself think. With Raj rapping, his friends and audience members screaming back AND the DJ’s music: The room was WOKE.

Rating: 8/10 guitars
My review:
Raj Mahal’s powerful approach to rap is purpose-built for club dance floors. His song ‘Cake’ underscores this mission, with adrenaline-fuelled, sweat-drenched, results. Featuring pounding production from his friend Domba, Raj barks his way through the thick buzz of synths, with ‘Cake’ standing somewhere between rap and brooding electronica.
All drenched with a punk aesthetic that prioritises lo-fi chaos. Bare in mind, ‘Cake’ is just a small taste of his EP called ‘Neva Safe’ which was released on the 11th of November 2017.
This man from Boston brought his sounds and beats to our Sydney streets with style and class and he was seriously BADASS.
If you ever get the chance: catch this act. He is well worth the ticket!
