Recently I had the pleasure of once again making my way to Arlene’s Grocery in the Lower East Side of Manhattan. The occasion was to see not only two of my favorite musicians, but people overall in the duo of Ashley Cox Sullivan & Shawn Sullivan better known as Professional Victims.
My history with the Syracuse based duo goes back well over a decade. Sadly I don’t get to see them as much as I would like so when I knew they were coming down for a rare NYC appearance, I just had to be there.
They wowed the crowd with a great set including some songs from their most recent EP Fathom The Cosmos. We were even treated to a few songs with fellow Syracuse musician Mike Borgia including a throwback to some Bitch Cassidy material which was a nice treat.
The set ended with a fantastic cover of the Pixies classic “Where Is My Mind?” which happens to be my favorite song by the band. I especially loved Ashley’s background vocals on this as they were absolutely perfect.
I definitely hope they can make it down to NYC more often as I will always do whatever I humanly can to see them. In the meantime, enjoy a few HD videos from their set along with some pictures.
