Overshadowed – the band name is a contradiction, they were loud and proud and overshadowed by nothing!
Gig date: 3rd August 2018
Venue: The Record Crate, Glebe, Sydney, Australia
Country of origin: Western Sydney, NSW, Australia
Members: Josh, Subin, Guy, Jim and Nick
Support or headline: Support for Reality Dreaming (Hornsby, Sydney)
Good crowd/bad crowd: Even with it being the bands second only gig (ever), the crowd absolutely loved their set. Admittedly not everyone would have been into the whole screamo/metal scene but they adjusted and seemed to be having a great time headbanging and just being there supporting new music.
Number of times seen band: 1
Crowd participation: As (I said) above, there was lots of headbanging and in addition to that, there was a lot of dancing. Everyone knew the cover songs, so no one was silent. Especially with the song ‘Carrion’. Just goes to show everyone loves Parkway Drive…
Genre: Metalcore
Rating: 7/10 guitars

Summary: Overshadowed are a metal band hailing from Western Sydney, primarily playing Metalcore but also branch out into groove, progressive and good old fashioned thrash. Last night was only their second show and it seemed like they’ve been going for years. Keep it up boy’s, you’ll only get better now 😉
A+ for effort!
