LUCIA 03-14-19 (Live @ Lustre Pearl)
One of my favorite sets of the entire 2019 SXSW festival was when I headed over to Lustre Pearl for the Fender Next showcase where the foursome of Lucia (Guitars/Vocals), Hamish (Guitars/Vocals), Chris (Bass) & Ally (Drums) put on a jaw dropping 9 song set.
They opened up with Cheap Talk, the title track from their much beloved 2018 EP. They followed it up with a fantastic version of Lose My Mind from the 2016 Best Boy EP. Their latest single Blueheart sounded absolutely phenomenal & really wowed the packed crowd.
Later on we got some great sounding versions of A Little Pick Me Up, Summertime & What Am I. The ending saw an absolutely flawless rendition of my favorite song Melted Ice Cream which epitomizes the true rock star stage presence Lucia Fairfull has.
LUCIA is a band that has all the makings to blow up real huge & deservedly so. I definitely recommend checking them out as you will not be disappointed!
