After years of attending shows in & around NYC, one will always come to have specific venues that are high up on your list of favorites to see a show at. For me, The Delancey is one of those venues as I have experienced many amazing nights there seeing shows that I still remember years later especially if they occurred during a music festival.
This was once again the case when I ended my Mondo NYC 2017 Music Festival & Tech Summit experience at The Delancey seeing 3 amazing acts who tore the house down. The first of those was the 5 piece band from Detroit known as Handgrenades. The band powered through a fantastic set which featured many songs from their current album Tunnels which is a definite can’t miss listen.
My personal highlight of the set was the closer In Absentia which I found out after the set actually was rearranged to be able to play live. I must say the chosen arrangement with the extended close out jam session was the perfect way to end things. I definitely wish they were a NYC based band as I would go see them as often as I humanly could!
