Set List:
Benefits are a band from Sydney, Australia, with a keen eye for pop history and songwriting. The five songs on their forthcoming debut EP Turbulence are wry, observational slices of life that feature the refined, cohesive lyricism and energy of a talented new songwriter, backed by organs, harmonies and open-hearted emotion in every song.
There’s a refreshing lack of cynicism or irony in the music of Benefits- a sincerity that’s backed by the growing confidence of Lewtas as an arranger as well as a songwriter. Written over the course of several years, Turbulence is a mature and considered introduction to Benefits. Awesome stuff guys, keep it up, and can’t wait for the EP to come out!
