Blushed 09-26-18 (Live @ Portside Bar & Grill)
Many different things can qualify as rare occurrences in the life of someone. For me such an occurrence is not only getting to cover a show without having to get on a train but having friends book a show on Long Island. This recently occurred for me when I had the chance to go out to the Portside Bar & Grill in Port Jefferson for the Planet Of Sounds Promotions (PSOP) event featuring Blushed.
The four piece surf rock band made up of Missy Pidgeon (Guitar/Vocals), Alyssa Milman (Bass/Vocals), Matty Klauser (Drums) & Dan Leinweber (Guitar) put on a short but energetic & intensity filled set for a packed house featuring a number of songs from their split EP with Secret Nudist Friends titled So Cool. I especially loved getting to hear my two favorite songs It’s So Cool & Weak!
I only wish they were based in NYC so I could see them all the time. Philly should count their lucky stars they get to have them! One thing is for sure, when Blushed comes around, I highly suggest you do everything possible to catch them as it will be a guaranteed great time!
